The Potty Poets

The World's

Longest

Poem

Yes! you have reached the online home of Potty Poet Gez Walsh's attempt to create the world's longest collaborative poem...

There have been many famous long poems in literary history, of course, from Anglo-Saxon sagas such as Beowulf through Medieval poems such as The Canterbury Tales via Paradise Lost and Wordsworth’s Prelude … all of which are tough acts to follow. Gez is undaunted – but he needs the help of all you unsung poets out there!

From this page you can either read more about Gez, read and browse the poem so far, submit a contribution of your own, or read the names of those who have contributed thus far. Just click on the appropriate link below

QUESTION - WILL MY POETRY APPEAR STRAIGHT AWAY?

ANSWER - NO - IT ALL HAS TO BE READ FIRST  BY A LITTLE OLD MAN CALLED GRIMR THE MAKAR, WHO LIVES IN A ROOM NEAR THE ATTIC, AND HE HAS TO CHECK EVERY WORD OF EVERY LINE AGAINST HIS LAW BOOKS WHICH HE KEEPS ON VERY HIGH SHELVES THAT REACH UP TO THE CEILING, AND HIS CAT SLEEPS ON THE DESK AND HE DOESN'T LIKE TO DISTURB HER, SO IT MAY TAKE A DAY OR TWO...
