Bookings for...

Roger Stevens

Need a Potty Poet to inspire children at your school, festival or event?
Book Roger for a day of humour, music and audience participation.

PERFORMANCE

Roger Stevens performs in schools, festivals, museums and libraries all over the UK and is fast making a name for himself as a children's poet and performer. Performances, for all age groups, last for around an hour and feature music, humour and lots of audience participation.

Workshops, for large or small groups of children of any age, combine several aspects of creative writing, poetry and music, during which Roger draws on over fifteen years' teaching experience to produce either a souvenir of his visit or a performance by children featuring their work. Sessions can be tailored to fit the requirements of a school or library and are ideal for book weeks. Roger also works with adults, parents and teachers.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

After fifteen years teaching art in secondary schools Roger moved into junior education, working as a class teacher for three years and then part-time as a music specialist. He currently devotes most of his time to writing and performing and running his successful poetry web site for children, The Poetry Zone. Along with his King's England Press children's poetry collaboration with Celia warren, Vikings Don't Wear Pants, Roger has penned two novels and his material has appeared in over fifty anthologies.
