WRITERS INTO EDUCATION

A great poem!

I'm Sorry That I'm Late Again

I'm sorry that I'm late again
I'm really not to blame
I've lots of different reasons
And no two are the same

We've been cut off by flood and snow
A tree has blocked our way
The house is in an uproar
'Cause Granny's come to stay

There's leaves upon the railway line
A gale came from the west
An iceberg landed on Dads' car
And wedged upon his chest

Someone stole my horse and cart
My camel has got flu
This has given him the hump
Can't blame him though, can you?

I know we have a Maths exam
And getting here's a must
But it's hard when deep space aliens
Have hijacked our school bus

We had to take a detour
To miss the giant hole
That appeared from nowhere overnight
Dug by a mutant mole

I know that you are sceptical
You think it's all a tale
You think I haven't studied
And I am going to fail

You may just have a point there
I'll just go home once more
It's not as though I've far to go
I only live next door
